Overview

Military Icon is a single WPF control that can be used to configure 1,200+ military war fighting symbols based on MIL-STD-2525B. This control is intended for use by developers creating WPF application projects targeted for Windows.

The look of the control is defined by the combination of three different properties: Hostility Level, Dimension and Unit Type.

  • Hostility Level: The hostility level defines the background shape and color of the icon. Choose from Unknown, Friendly, Neutral, or Hostile.
  • Dimension: The battle dimension is the position of the unit with respect to the ground/surface and is used to determine the background shape of the image within the icon. Choices include Above Surface, Surface Units, Surface Equipment, Surface Installation, and Below Surface
  • Unit Type: The unit type is a graphical depiction of the warfighting unit being represented. Choose from 149 different unit types.
